On May 22, 1998, Maria Shriver addressed the College of the Holy Cross graduating class in an unforgettable commencement speech that inspired her book, Ten Things I Wish I’d Known Before I Went Out into the Real World.
Throughout the speech, Shriver shared her advice on career, marriage and parenting. She concluded with the ten things she wished someone had told her while she was sitting at her own graduation.
“Laughter and Love will get you through this thing called life.”
“Courage is walking through fear with faith. I wish all of you the faith and courage to pinpoint your passion, to get out there, be free, and achieve it.”
