On Thursday, November 19th at a sold-out breakfast event at Mount St. Mary’s University in Los Angeles, Maria Shriver spoke with “The Queen of Primetime,” award-winning producer and writer Shonda Rhimes (creator of Gray’s Anatomy, Private Practice and Scandal, as well as executive producer of How to Get Away With Murder) and author of The New York Times bestselling book, The Year of Yes.
They talked about the ripple effect of small things we do, being a good leader, motherhood, honoring people who help us and paying them living wages, raising good citizens, their joint fight against Alzheimer’s disease, personal power, the importance of play, following your dreams, and of course saying “Yes” to the world.
“It was like a snowball going down the hill,” Rhimes explained. “Every time you say ‘Yes,’ you get stronger and more confident.”
