Tom Brokaw’s Tips for Maintaining Perspective in Today’s 24/7 News Cycle
Over the last 50 years, Tom Brokaw‘s voice is one that has guided us through many of our nation’s most important moments. He was kind enough to share a few tips this week on how he believes we can maintain perspective in the midst of the fast-paced, constantly evolving news cycle that we live in today.
1) First, pace yourself. Don’t try to go 24/7 in front of the TV. In this electronic age, you can go fuzzy watching all channels 24/7.
2) Next, develop priorities. What elements are most important? For example, collaborating with Russia is a more important issue to follow than, say, the kind of chocolate cake Trump praised.
3) Mix the media. Watch TV and read print.
4) Go for a walk. You’ll see in just two blocks so many people who are NOT living with this 24/7.
