Actress Geena Davis Speaks Out Against Hollywood Ageism

It is unfortunate-but-known news that the industry of Hollywood is rife with ageism. But what is slowly overtaking the norm and garnering immense respect are the individuals calling it out and standing up for greater inclusivity. This cohort includes Oscar-winning actress Geena Davis, who recently revealed that she was once rejected for a film role because the male co-star said she was “too old” to play his love interest. “It’s very strange and so prevalent,’ Davis explained in an interview with Allison Kugel. “A certain male actor that was making a movie said that I was too old to be his romantic interest, and I was 20 years younger than him.”

We applaud Davis and we endlessly stand by her. You can read more of her story in Daily Mail.
