My Sunday ‘To Be’ List

by FATHER JAMES MARTIN

I want “to be” a more loving person, kind to everyone I encounter, even if they’re not kind to me.

I want “to be” an advocate for people who feel that they are on the margins, whether they are Black men and women, refugees and migrants, LGBTQ people, the homeless, the incarcerated or the unborn.

I want “to be” someone who focuses more on gratitude than on complaining.

Frankly, I don’t want to complain at all.

I want to let people know that God loves them now, already, as they are.

I want to follow Jesus more closely.
